The Society of Certified Senior Advisors has released a new resource kit called Information for Life. This is a tool that allows seniors to put together a comprehensive compilation of their personal, legal, medical and financial information. When families most need vital information from a senior is when they are least able to give it, but with the Information for Life kit, families have access to the critical information needed to make decisions for seniors and handle their affairs when they are no longer able to do so for themselves.
The Information for Life kit provides documents designed to organize information on a variety of topics relevant to the overall wellbeing of a senior and their family. This kit is broken down into nine different sections to cover all relevant topics so that families have a reliable resource to use when a senior can no longer provide the information necessary to care for themself or for their affairs. Items contained within this kit include important documentation, such as, a listing of all financial accounts, a Caregiver Bill of Rights, where to locate the senior's living will, and more. Utilizing these forms can provide some peace of mind so that both the family and the senior know that the senior’s wishes are being carried out.
For those individuals caring for a senior, it only takes one time to find out what they don’t know. It takes the Information for Life Kit to provide the answers. Illnesses, accidents, and deaths can be hard enough on loved ones, this kit can help alleviate some of the stressors associated with not knowing what to do or where to find the information needed to care for a senior and their affairs.
SCSA is working to provide seniors and their families with the most up-to-date forms and content. To see what is currently available, follow the link Information for Life and be sure to check back periodically for new resources.
