Sustainable Real Estate Solutions, Inc. (SRS) has been retained by the Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN) to conduct the third series of workshops for San Francisco Bay Area contractors entitled: How C-PACE Financing Can Grow Your Business.

The free workshops are scheduled on Tuesday, October 20, through Friday, October 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at select locations across the Bay Area. Registration is currently open for the sessions.

SRS is the nation’s leading provider of services and tools to assist contractors, project developers, and energy service companies, develop and underwrite commercial projects for energy efficiency financing. The company’s new workshop series will build on the momentum created by workshops held in May and June of 2015. That effort, designed to encourage contractors to consider C-PACE financing on behalf of their customers, has generated more than 20 energy efficiency project opportunities valued in excess of $5.0 million in just 3 months.

Brian J. McCarter, CEO of SRS, will lead the workshops. The three-hour sessions are designed to help commercial and industrial real estate project developers, energy service companies and contractors navigate the innovative C-PACE financing process. McCarter will also present BayREN C-PACE project case studies, discuss the lessons learned and describe the “path to success” that over 20 Bay Area contractors have followed to initiate these projects.

“The support SRS provides for leading C-PACE programs nationwide has led to a streamlined, standardized, technically-sound and transparent underwriting methodology that has earned the confidence of building owners, mortgage holders and capital providers,” said McCarter. “This proven project underwriting methodology has facilitated more than 60 percent of all C-PACE finance approvals nationwide. The BayREN Initiative and its continued investment in the training and services to contractors in the Bay Area is now poised to enable the large-scale adoption of C-PACE energy efficiency investment in California.”

“The state-of-the-art project development service brought by SRS to a complex process has brought speed and transparency to the commercial PACE underwriting process," said Rich Chien, PACE program manager for the City and County of San Francisco. “Based on feedback so far, BayREN’s collaboration with SRS has proven its worth and re-ignited contractor enthusiasm for C-PACE in Northern California and beyond."

“BayREN is delighted to partner with SRS to enable San Francisco Bay Area contractors and commercial and industrial building owners to fully-leverage the benefits of PACE financing to meet their property modernization needs while realizing compelling energy savings,” said Jennifer Berg, BayREN program manager with the Association of Bay Area Governments.

The contractor-focused campaign will also work closely with commercial PACE program administrators and capital providers available in the region, including CaliforniaFIRST, Figtree, Ygrene, GreenFinanceSF and the Sonoma County Energy Independence Program.
