Minneapolis MN (PRWEB) January 5, 2011

SafeKey Corporation, creators of the SafeKey® device, a revolutionary way for drivers to assess their capability to operate an automobile safely after drinking, is proud to announce renowned meteorologist, entrepreneur and TV/radio producer, Paul Douglas, has joined the SafeKey Board of Directors. Douglas is a nationally respected meteorologist with more than three decades of broadcast experience and an extensive entrepreneurial background.

SafeKey’s President, Mr. Jim Rennie, has followed Mr. Douglas’s career over the years. “Paul has been a celebrity for many years, yet is kind, self-effacing, unpretentious and highly ethical. We all look forward to working with Paul and welcome him to the company as SafeKey propels forward.”

Dr. Richard Galbraith, co-founder of SafeKey and the company’s Chief Medical Officer and practicing neurologist in the Twin Cities area, said, “Over many years, I have much enjoyed Paul’s broadcasts. He is truly a very exceptional man and SafeKey is greatly blessed to have Paul’s dedication to our company.”

Dr. Tom Edwards, SafeKey’s inventor and Chief Executive, said, “In addition to his entrepreneurial and business successes, Mr. Douglas is active in numerous charities and civic organizations. SafeKey is especially fortunate to have this overwhelming achiever take an interest in our company.”

Douglas has been named SafeKey’s Director of Entrepreneurial Strategies.

Douglas said he was very impressed with the SafeKey device, which stops impaired drivers before they get behind the wheel of a car. In fact, the car won’t start if the Check Module test is not passed. “SafeKey’s remarkable new high technology is based upon the well-known fact that alcohol and other drugs compromise human reaction times. The life-saving aspects of this invention provide incalculable piece of mind. This product protects against undue delays in stimulus-response time. Breathalyzers only infer blood alcohol content from measuring chemicals in one’s breath, but those results are often both imprecise and irrelevant.” Further, Mr. Douglas said, “SafeKey possesses another very significant feature -- it is a deterrent to vehicle theft.” In addition, Mr. Douglas said “As an entrepreneur I, found the quality of the team that is putting this venture together exceptional.”

More SafeKey information is available on the company’s September, 2010 press release: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2010/08/prweb4366384.htm. The company also announced that a documentary, produced by World Progress Report, was just completed and is hosted by Jane Lunden. The SafeKey production will be globally aired on the Public Broadcasting Network throughout the coming year by several hundred television stations. A somewhat longer version, not including Ms. Lunden, is available on SafeKey’s website, http://www.safekeycorporation.com.
