WeddingWire has given the Santa Catalina Island Company (http://www.visitcatalinaisland.com) its highest honor, the "Bride's Choice" award, chosen by the people who are in the best position to judge: those that got married at one of its venues.
By conducting surveys and reviews of newlyweds who used WeddingWire's services, WeddingWire assessed each of its 100,000 registered vendors on quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost, and flexibility. Only the highest-scoring 3% were given the prestigious title of "Bride's Choice."
"Winning the Bride's Choice Award is just an incredible honor," said Brad Wilson, President of Catalina Island Resort Services (CIRS). CIRS is one of the Island Company's wholly-owned subsidiaries and operates the company's wedding venues. "More than just a reflection on the quality of the facilities, it's a reflection on the quality of our staff. Our highest priority has always been customer service."
All of the Island Company's venues were highly praised by users on the company's WeddingWire profile, with comments like, "the quality of service was exceptional," "above and beyond what we had expected," and "we couldn't be more pleased."
The Island Company operates three wedding venues in Catalina: the Descanso Beach Club, the Catalina Country Club, and the Casino Ballroom.
At the Descanso Beach Club, couples can get married on a lush terraced lawn, with views overlooking the beach and Catalina's famously clear waters beyond.
Originally built in the 1920s as the spring training home for the Chicago Cubs, the Catalina Country Club offers classic Spanish-style architecture and several wedding locations. Smaller, more intimate weddings can be held on a terrace with ocean views, while larger weddings can held in the courtyard, next to a fountain made of brightly colored Catalina tile.
The grandest of the three locations, the Casino Ballroom offers stunning 280-degree ocean views and the sleek elegance of the Art Deco age in which it was built. Five Tiffany chandeliers hang from a fifty-foot, vaulted ceiling, and a raised seating area surrounds an inlaid-wood circular dance floor. The venue can accommodate parties as large as 1,200.
But, according to Wilson, it doesn't matter what venue a couple chooses, or the size of their party. "Every wedding is given the same courtesy and service as every other. It meant a lot to read on our comments page that one couple said that we made them feel as if they were the only ones on the planet getting married."
