Author Scott Stevens launches new marketing push for historical novel

Unfortunately, tragedies happen that can significantly alter individuals’ lives.

When the Titanic sank, it not only became one of the worst maritime disasters in the world, it also caused pain and suffering for those survivors who lost their loved ones and had to continue raising their families on their own.

Coping with the loss of a loved one is what Scott Stevens, a Titanic enthusiast and author of “The Lost Deposition of Glynnis Smith McLean, Second-Class Survivor of the RMS Titanic” (published by iUniverse), addresses in his historical novel, for which he is launching a new marketing campaign.

Stevens examines this challenge through the fictional eyes of Glynnis Smith McLean, who had to raise her son after the death of her husband on the Titanic. “When we are in love, we believe that nothing is indestructible,” Stevens says. “Unfortunately, tragedies happen that can significantly alter individuals’ lives.”

Through Glynnis’ struggles, he aims to stress the burden that men and women face after losing someone close to them.

Stevens hopes readers take away: “A sense of strength and perseverance over loss. A sense that tragedy can strike without warning and that it’s the character of the individual that determines the outcome of the experience.”
