Sky-Trax Partners with GENCO Supply Chain Solutions

Sky-Trax, Inc. announces its strategic partnership with GENCO Supply Chain Solutions to bring new technologies to the Materials Handling Industry.

New Castle, Delaware (PRWEB) April 18, 2008 -- Sky-Trax Inc. is proud to announce its partnership with GENCO Supply Chain Solutions. Sky-Trax, a technology company, and GENCO Supply Chain Solutions, North America's second largest and a Global Top 50 third-party logistics provider and recognized leader in Reverse Logistics, combine to form a strategic partnership that brings cutting edge technology and global third-party logistics together. As new strategic partners, Sky-Trax and GENCO Supply Chain Solutions look forward to bringing new and exciting technologies to the materials handling industry.

Mitch Silver, CEO of Sky-Trax explains, "This is a perfect match on many levels. Sky-Trax optical technologies deliver revolutionary accuracy in tracking vehicles and inventory. GENCO Supply Chain Solutions has been long regarded as a leading force in bringing technological advancements into warehouse operations. Their experience and resources are the ideal compliment to our innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. Together we expect to change the way companies look at warehouse operations."

GENCO continually looks for technologies that help our customers improve their competitive edge
Pete Rector, executive vice president of GENCO Supply Chain Solutions, sees Sky-Trax as a way to keep his company in the front of their industry by being a first adopter of Sky-Trax's revolutionary technology. "GENCO continually looks for technologies that help our customers improve their competitive edge," said Pete Rector. "Sky-Trax has demonstrated in rigorous testing that it provides significant productivity advances. We believe it has the capacity to further develop into even more robust uses in supply chain efficiency."

While the details of the partnership are not yet public, Silver points out that GENCO Supply Chain Solutions and Sky-Trax have been working closely for about a year on Sky-Trax's first large installation in a GENCO run facility. In 2007 and part of 2008, GENCO conducted a pilot test of the Sky-Trax System at its 328,000 sq. ft. facility in Atlanta. Results revealed during the 14,000 pallet pilot that all pallets were put away with 100% accuracy without traditional operator dependent scanning. Based on time studies, GENCO projects a 30% overall daily productivity improvement in pallet putaway and retrieval using Sky-Trax throughout the entire facility. "While data is still being collected, we couldn't be more excited about the results so far," explains Silver.
