Houston, TX (PRWEB) June 06, 2011
Smart Financial Credit Union, a Houston-based, full-service financial services provider, is pleased to announce the launch of a new mobile banking platform aimed at enhancing the service delivery channels available to its 78,000 members.
The new mobile banking system allows Smart Financial members secure, easy access to account information from a variety of mobile devices and smart phones. While the service is free for members, mobile banking is only available to members who enroll or have previously enrolled in Virtual Branch Online Banking, Smart Financial’s home banking service.
“Smart Financial continues to invest in technology solutions that support our ‘Membership Equals Freedom’ philosophy,” says Corbin Wilson, vice president of electronic member services for Smart Financial. “The mobile solution is ideal for those traveling or constantly on-the-go. The platform extends what is currently offered through our internet banking solutions to the mobile device.”
The response from membership has been tremendous. Since rolling out the new service at the beginning of May, Smart Financial has seen over 3,100 members sign up to use mobile banking in the first month. Approximately 44% of those have been categorized as ‘Power Users’ – using the service more than 10 times a month.
Smart Financial has made free ‘My Smart CU’ Applications available for download at the Apple App Store for iPhone/iPod devices and the Android Market for Android devices. In addition, Smart Financial is offering a free Blackberry shortcut exclusively for Blackberry-operated devices.
“This is the first phase of our mobile offering and there will be future service enhancements rolled out for this new and emerging service delivery channel,” adds Wilson.
