Burlington, Vermont (PRWEB) April 17, 2012
Vermont woman-owned companies, Terry Bicycles and Sojourn Bicycle Vacations, will team up for two Vermont Bike Tours in the Lake Champlain Valley for 2012. Georgena Terry, founder of Terry Bicycles, will join both trips to share her passion for cycling and stories of her pioneering of women's bicycle design. Terry road bikes will be available for testing and Terry products will be available for purchase at a special rate during the trips.
The trips will include a three-night stay at Basin Harbor Club, a classic lakeside resort. Cycling routes designed by Sojourn Bike Tours will take participants along the back roads of the Lake Champlain Valley and include visits to the towns of Middlebury and Shelburne. Cyclists will also cross Lake Champlain on a private cruise to ride the New York side of the Lake and enjoy a visit to historic Essex. Meals, including a sunset lobster bake on the North Dock, will be hosted at the Basin Harbor Club.
The trips are designed for both recreational and more avid cyclists. Daily route options will provide choices to appeal to a range of abilities and interests. Two professional Sojourn bicycle tour leaders will guide the trips and will also provide van support along the routes.
The Basin Harbor Club offers non-motorized watercraft, swimming, tennis, and golf. The Lake Champlain Maritime Museum is adjacent to the grounds. Both women and men are welcomed on the trips which run August 15-18 and September 9-12. Pricing is $1395 per person double occupancy and includes airport pick-up in Burlington, lodging, welcome reception, all meals except one lunch, and use of road or hybrid bike, helmet, and rack bag. Trips are limited to 18 participants.
