The Miami Beach Condo Journal announced its Tourism Story of the Week, after the program for the 2013 Food Network South Beach Wine and Food Festival was unveiled in a press release. The Festival is among the most well-respected culinary gatherings in the nation; the 2013 edition will mark the 12th year of the Festival.
The 2013 Festival’s culinary and cultural offerings are many; featured chefs include such celebrity chefs as Nigella Lawson, Michael Mina, and Emeril Lagasse. Non-chef luminaries will also be in attendance; singer Trisha Yearwood and home-living specialist Martha Stewart (this year’s Mistress of Ceremonies) will both be hosting events. Popular mainstays of the festival also return, including a burger cook-off hosted by Rachel Ray; a brunch with Daniel Boulud; and a wild barbecue party with live blues, hosted by Geoffrey Zakarian.
The festival is scheduled to take place in a series of white tents built between 10th and 13th Street off Ocean Drive, nearby St. Regis Miami condos for sale and Bal Harbour condos. The centerpiece of the festival, dubbed the Whole Foods Market Grand Tasting Village, will be home to cooking demonstrations by the celebrity chef lineup; the nearby MasterCard Grand Tasting Tents will offer Festival attendees samplings from forty different restaurants and over eighty local beverage options, including wine and spirits. In addition to the food and drink options, guests can also attend lifestyle and wine seminars, which will feature top-billing chefs, winemakers and other professionals.
The 2013 Food Network South Beach Wine and Food Festival takes place February 21 - 24, 2013. Ticket sales for the Festival begin soon; MasterCard cardholders are eligible for online presale starting Monday, October 8 and running through Sunday, October 21. All proceeds from the festival benefit the Florida International University Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, as well as the Southern Wine and Spirits Beverage Management Center. Going into this 12th season, the Festival has already raised about $17 million for these organizations.
