SpeedHIRE events (http://www.consultnetworx.com/speedhire/), innovative one-on-one interviewing venues that speed up the recruiting process, are launching in April and visiting cities across the country throughout 2013. To meet the demands of a “hot” job market, the first leg of the tour will kick off in 4 cities in Texas, starting with Houston on April 15 and then move on to Raleigh, NC, Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA. In total there will be 50 events in 19 cities before the tour concludes in December, providing a win-win solution to job candidates and employers.

The SpeedHIRE concept is the brainchild of Gail Tolstoi-Miller, CEO and Chief Staffing Strategist of Consultnetworx, a New Jersey-based consulting firm. With 18 years of experience in recruiting top-quality candidates, Tolstoi-Miller realized that many of her clients were suffering the results of ineffective recruiting practices with ideal candidates falling through the cracks and being hired by competitors.

While job fairs provide a large number of candidates to interview, employers are often presented with people whose skills, personality or experience aren't a good fit. Miller decided that her intuitive screening skills combined with a modern twist might be just the tool her clients needed.

SpeedHIRE events successfully combine the concept of head hunting, speed dating and concierge services with job fairs. Prospective candidates are pre-screened by Consultnetworx recruiters before each event so that employers only spend time with candidates who have the talent and skills that fit their available positions.

"Because interviews are precisely scheduled, highly-qualified employed candidates are able to attend without taking an entire day off of work. This means the amount of quality candidates in attendance is greater than an all-day job fair, which tends to attract many under-qualified applicants," says Tolstoi-Miller.

This no-nonsense approach to filling multiple positions has proved successful for companies in a variety of industries from engineering to pharmaceutical. SpeedHIRE events are a win-win for candidates too because they bring the dignity back to recruiting,it is NOT a cattle call and they are assured that they will get the same amount of face time with employers as other candidates. When the candidate's six minutes are up, the employer moves on to the next candidate, leveling the playing field.

"Recruiting is similar to being a talent agent. You must find the person with the right personality and skills to fit into the corporate culture of a company," says Tolstoi-Miller.

Another factor that sets SpeedHIRE events apart from traditional job fairs is that employers are not limited to sourcing in-house roles, but are also able to find consultants at every level from the pool of talent who are invited to the event.

"The SpeedHIRE events are changing the landscape of recruiting, last year, SpeedHIRE hosted 3 events in the NY metropolitan area. As a direct result of these events, 37 full time employees were hired, as were 8 consultants. This creative solution allows hiring managers to interview several targeted candidates for multiple positions instead of hundreds of candidates that are not right. In addition to massive time-savings, clients are able to save tens of thousands of dollars in recruiting agency fees," adds Tolstoi-Miller.
