The GAME by Ronaldo is the first global crowdsourced football championship, supported and promoted by the best player in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo. Aimed at 300 million regular football players worldwide, The GAME welcomes participants of all nationalities, ages and playing levels.

An innovative project which will certainly provide good games, spirited competition and lots of fun.

The GAME by Ronaldo is a real five-a-side football championship, played by real players and real teams. Although everything happens in real life, it's controlled by an advanced cloud platform, with apps readily available for the Web, iOS and Android. Using intelligent algorithms, the app suggests appropriate adversaries for each team, with the goal of improving their rankings, according to their location and availability, among other variables. Additionally, the app allows teams to schedule matches, enter results and keep track of their stats, performance and history.

Built as a perpetual league, The GAME allows participants to challenge teams at different rankings nationwide or worldwide - as long as they're willing to travel - winning or losing points to their opponents, depending on the matches’ outcome. This points transfer system between adversaries allows for the most competitive teams to quickly climb the rankings.

Round One, the name given to the experimental period of this innovative championship, runs between January 26 and May 1, 2014. The inaugural match, with date and venue scheduled by the teams using The GAME app, was held in Tallin, Estonia, on January 26 at 6:00 p.m., local time.

Registered players are now reaching 100,000, from more than 180 countries. Ruben Dias, co-CEO of Sports Stars Media said: "The overwhelming interest in The GAME has far exceeded our expectations and the increasing rate of participant registration doesn’t cease to amaze us."

As with any other championship, The GAME will offer regular prizes. As an example, at the end of Round One, the world’s top-ranking team will be awarded a trip from any place in the world to watch a football match of the project's own ambassador, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Luis Correia, Polaris Sports director, the company managing the player’s image rights, commented he believed The GAME “is an innovative project which will certainly provide good games, spirited competition and lots of fun”.

Cristiano Ronaldo, directly involved with the project, said: “I’m really happy to be a part of The GAME and I hope people join in, have fun and that it all becomes a success”.

Sports Stars Media doesn’t hide the fact that it has ambitious plans for The GAME. In the words of Ruben Dias, co-CEO of Sports Stars Media, “We're only getting started”.
