Stickam, the largest live online video community, is hosting a 12-hour webathon and benefit concert to raise money for the Japan relief efforts. All proceeds will directly benefit the American Red Cross, Japanese Red Cross Society, and GlobalGiving.
“This event is extremely important to all of us at Stickam. As a company, we have strong Japanese ties and many employees in our branch office there, so this is a cause very close to our hearts,” says Hideki Kishioka, co-founder of Stickam. “We are touched and encouraged by the outpouring of support we have received from so many of the long-term members in the Stickam community.”
The webathon will feature live remotes and pre-recorded segments from dozens of bands and celebrities across the Stickam community, including: ALLSTAR WEEKEND, COBRA STARSHIP, CROSSFADE, DROWNING POOL, FAREAST MOVEMENT, HEY MONDAY, ANDREW W.K., designer JAC VANEK and comedian JAKE FOGELNEST, among others.
The day will culminate with a five-hour concert at The Roxy Theatre headlined by BREAL and SEN DOG of CYPRESS HILL featuring ABUSED ROMANCE, JUKE KARTEL, DREW SEELEY, among others. Open to all ages, tickets can be purchased at The Roxy box office.
BReal of Cypress Hill has hosted a daily music talk show on Stickam for the last two years. Abused Romance hosts a weekly music talk show on Stickam (Fridays at 3 PM PST) and has a new album currently#41 on Billboard’s Active Rock Chart and climbing.
