Columbia, MO (PRWEB) June 13, 2012
Today StorageMart announced it will play host to a Doggie Wash and Adoption Event to benefit Columbia Second Chance.
The event will be held Saturday, June 30, at the StorageMart located at 4000 S. Providence Rd., Columbia, MO. Lasting from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the event will include a dog wash and BBQ. Columbia Second Chance volunteers will also be on hand with dogs currently available for adoption.
At this event, StorageMart will also present Columbia Second Chance with a 5’ x 5’ storage unit filled with various pet related items (including food, treats and toys) as part of the latest installment in the StorageMart YouTube video series “How Much Fits in a Storage Unit.” The following Columbia, MO StorageMart locations will be acting as drop-off points for donations from the public between now and Friday, June 29th.
All bathing supplies will be provided at the event, with Second Chance volunteers on hand to do the bathing. The cost to have a dog bathed will be $5. For an additional $5, volunteers will trim a dog’s nails. All proceeds from the Dog Wash and nail trims will go to benefit Columbia Second Chance. Additionally, anyone adopting an animal at the event will receive a pet-related gift, courtesy of StorageMart.
With the summer months often meaning severely overcrowded animal shelters and rescues, StorageMart elected to host this event to increase awareness of the importance of animal adoption.
“Local shelters are the perfect place to meet a dog that’s just right for your family,” said StorageMart Marketing Director Sarah Little. “Organizations like Second Chance realize rescue dogs have so much love to give and work hard to place as many as they can into loving homes. We’re proud to have this opportunity to both assist them in the mission to adopt out rescue animals currently in their program as well as contributing to future rescue efforts.”
Headquartered in Columbia, Missouri, StorageMart is a full-service, self-storage company with more than 130 locations across the United States and Canada. StorageMart Gives is the charitable arm of the company, striving to identify partner organizations in each of the company’s home markets.
