The Technology Impact Awards (TIAs) is the premier awards program devoted to promoting and celebrating innovation and high-tech excellence in the province of British Columbia, Canada. Founded in 1994 by BCTIA, the Technology Impact Awards are given as a mark of distinction for outstanding leadership, innovation, and technical excellence. The TIAs are broken into three distinct groups: Technology Awards, Company Awards, and Personal Recognition Awards.

Awards are judged by a panel of twelve individuals recognized as experts and leaders in the technology sector. Finalists for the most Promising Start-up are young technology companies whose commercially available products demonstrate significant potential, creativity, and a promising future. For Excellence in Product Innovation, finalists were selected based on superior innovation or discovery in an advanced technology, demonstrating an alternative solution or next-stage development in technology.

"Our award finalists represent an outstanding group of companies who are driving technological innovation and economic growth in British Columbia and beyond," said Pascal Spothelfer, president and chief executive officer of BCTIA. "With their skillful leadership and technological expertise, they are destined to have a positive impact on a global scale."

Strangeloop's AS1000 Application Scaling Appliance is an easy and immediate solution to the inevitable performance challenges that companies using ASP.NET & AJAX applications face. It is the first application acceleration device and the only solution on the market to automatically optimize Web applications developed using the Microsoft ASP.NET framework, in the network, in real-time. The AS1000 enables organizations to boost performance and scalability of these applications while reducing the need for added bandwidth, servers and developer coding time, adding to their bottom line while giving them a competitive edge.

"Being nominated for these two awards is a great honor for Strangeloop because it underscores the tremendous value the AS1000 provides companies seeking to reduce the time and cost to deliver ASP.NET applications and realize the business and competitive advantages of getting new features out to market quickly," said Jonathan Bixby, president and chief executive officer of Strangeloop Networks.
