Nearing the end of its second year, The George Washington University Online High School (GWUOHS), a private high school for students seeking an individual, personalized and flexible college preparatory program, is announcing new and exciting academic programs for the 2013-14 school year. In addition to its current programs, GWUOHS will expand its academic offerings to reach more students through the launch of a Middle School for grades 6-8 and a new AP® Excellence Program.

“GWUOHS is excited to offer new programs to current and prospective students,” said Dr. Robert Ianacone, Special Assistant to the Dean and Liason to George Washington University Online High School. “We look forward to launching our Middle School program to serve students who are willing to cultivate and sustain strong work ethic and aim for meaningful post-secondary experience. Paired with our new part-time AP program, our commitment to academic success continues to grow.”

The AP® Excellence Program offers 15 courses in English, History, Math, and Science. The program is available for qualified students who are not in the GWUOHS full-time program and are looking to supplement their current education, gain valuable college credits, and challenge themselves intellectually. The AP Excellence Program includes support and training on online education. AP Excellence students receive a comprehensive program overview in live sessions directed by AP teachers and coordinators.

The announcements come on the heels of another successful year for GWUOHS. The online private high school will graduate its 2nd class of senior students at The George Washington University’s Science and Technology Campus on June 15th.
