Flavia, bravely recalls her personal story of childhood sexual abuse as a 4 year old girl. Following, is an excerpt of her amazing story from victim, to survivor, to a mother working on her Ph.D.
"...I remember being on the ground now. I don't remember the details of how I got on the ground... The rocks were on my back. I felt everything really strong and I just remember looking up through the trees and seeing the sun and I was asking God to please just make a tree fall on me. I just wanted to die, because now I felt like something was wrong with me if this keeps happening to me. I'm not doing anything... I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
So this girl puts sticks inside of me, rocks, a beetle. They were pulling my hair. They were laughing at me. I was terrified... and instead of telling them to stop, I just looked at the trees. I remember seeing the clouds move, and they were going so slow. As a kid, not realizing the clouds move because of the wind, I thought God was making it go slow for a reason and that this was supposed to happen. I finally stood up and said, 'Please stop! I'll come back tomorrow, but I have to go home or my Mom will be scared because I'm not there.' ..."

“Child sexual abuse is predictable, preventable, and everyone plays a part in the solution. Experts estimate there are 39 million survivors of child sexual abuse in America alone and we believe it’s time to talk about it.”** says TAALK founder and host Diane Cranley.
