Morrisville, NC (PRWEB) April 27, 2011

TAPA, the Transported Asset Protection Association, today announced a new campaign designed to improve collaboration among its members, and enhance the protection of High-Value Theft Targeted (HVTT) assets in the transportation supply chain. This multi-facetted program features a new interactive website and an expanded marketing campaign that is designed to promote TAPA’s members and improve collaboration throughout the TAPA community.

TAPA is a worldwide coalition of manufacturers, shippers, carriers, insurers, service providers, law enforcement and government agencies concerned with the risks of criminal activity against HVTT cargo in the transportation supply chain. TAPA members work together to prevent theft and other crimes against the transportation supply chain through the sharing of information, the development of supply chain security standards, and cooperation with government agencies. These standards, and TAPA’s certification of supply chain facilities play a critical role in the fight against cargo crime.

Designed by Audion Marketing of Austin, Texas, TAPA’s newly launched website, (http://www.tapaonline.org) features extensive industry research and resources that help its members - more than 400 of the world’s largest companies - set and promulgate best-in-class standards for facility security and transport. By collaborating with TAPA EMEA and TAPA Asia to share resources and information, TAPA helps companies that make and ship electronics, pharmaceuticals, clothing, food, auto parts, building supplies and any other high-valued cargo, exchange data and intelligence information on a global basis, to improve the security and reliability of their supply chain. TAPA’s newly-launched website provides members with new capabilities that include:

  •     Integrated mapping and route planning features
  •     Detailed information for certified sites
  •     Improved search features and expanded member descriptions with video, maps and other images
  •     Enhanced security, including tiered members-only access
  •     A dynamic events calendar with improved registration features
  •     Full CMS for administrative updating and control
  •     And an interactive news section with member feedback on articles and research.

In addition to its website, TAPA also shares its content through its newsletter, and through global incident tracking via IIS.

“Cargo theft is a daily problem in many industries that accounts for billions of dollars in lost revenue,” said TAPA Board Member Taya Tuggle. “The initiatives we’ve announced today will help manufacturers, shippers, law enforcement and government agencies work together more effectively to reduce losses in the supply chain, and help companies preserve their brand integrity, minimize customer inconvenience, and ultimately improve their bottom lines.”
