TCG, a leading government technology strategy and IT consultancy, was recognized as a finalist in the Small Business Star Performer category by SmartCEO magazine at this year’s 2012 GovStar Awards ceremony.

TCG and the other finalists, who were chosen by an independent panel of judges, were feted at the ceremony, which was held on October 18, 2012 and attended by over 500 government IT executives. The finalists were also featured in the October issue of SmartCEO.

Now in its third year, the GovStar Awards program honors local government contracting firms in the Washington, DC area for their technology innovation, workplace environment, growth, veteran support, and contributions to the industry and marketplace. The government contracting business is extremely competitive and the GovStar Awards recognizes companies that strive for excellence in this complex and competitive sector. The GovStar Small Business Star Performer category honors government contractors that have experienced significant growth over the last several years.

“While we weren’t the overall winner in our category, it was certainly an honor to be one of just three finalists under consideration for this award category,” said TCG President Daniel Turner. “There are hundreds of small businesses competing for government contracting work in the DC area so it’s always gratifying to be singled out for our commitment to improve government using IT.”
