Encino, CA (PRWEB) June 21, 2012
There is no questioning the fact that tax firms—and more specifically, tax problem resolution firms—have been at the center of a media onslaught of epic proportions over the past year and a half, so it’s no small feat that the American Business Awards named Michael Rozbruch, founder/CEO of Tax Resolution Services, Co. (TRS), as the recipient of a bronze Stevie Award for Maverick of the Year at its tenth annual American Business Awards’ banquet at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York, held on the evening of Monday, June 18, 2012. The American Business Awards are the nation’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.
“While we make our way through this period of transition in our industry as leaders and foot soldiers, it’s awesome to receive this honor,” said Rozbruch. “I’m also very happy for my colleague Brian Compton, president of TRS—he’s been working hard behind the scenes for a long time, and with his Silver Stevie as Executive of the Year in Accounting, Banking, and Financial Services, he has finally gotten his due.”
As the CEO of a tax debt mediation and negotiation firm using a solid, honest, consumer-friendly business model, Rozbruch epitomizes a maverick in his industry. The industry has been so rife with companies looking to make a profit at the expense of the consumer, that Michael’s steadfast adherence to a business model guided by a set of principles that seeks to do right by clients by educating and empowering them can be considered a maverick approach. However, with over fourteen years at the helm of TRS and thirty years in the industry as a whole, Rozbruch is not about to change a winning formula.
“Hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” commented Michael. “Look, I’ve been doing business this way for as long as I can remember. I just try to do the right thing, to put myself in the consumers’ shoes and think about how I would want to be treated. It’s so much more fulfilling to know that we do everything we can to help our clients, and if we can’t help them, we tell them what they can do to help themselves, or where they can go to get the help they need.”
That mind-set is also what has prompted Rozbruch to co-found the National Association of Tax Resolution Companies, which is working to draft federal and state legislation that will self-regulate the tax resolution industry and flush out the negative elements that are soiling the reputation of companies such as TRS that actually are doing legitimate business. Rozbruch, who was also elected president of the association, has been a maverick for a long time—he pioneered the tax resolution industry, helping taxpayers long before tax mediation and negotiation became the thing to do, and now he’s carrying the torch as the educator and protector of the industry.
“It took a long time to build this company and this industry into what it is today,” said Rozbruch. “There is no way I’m going to let a handful of bad companies send it all tumbling to the ground—not on my watch.”
