OREM, UT (PRWEB) May 31, 2012

TUHF, Incorporated started The Legacy Project with a goal to help 1000 people in 90 days. Team members around the country set out to make the lives of others better through service, mentoring and education. Service projects have included helping neighbors’ plant gardens, fix broken equipment, taking meals to families, driving to and from doctor appointments, and assisting in school projects. Team members have mentored and provided education to individuals enabling them to start their own businesses and change their financial situations.

The latest Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) U6 figures, released May 14, 2012, showed 19,287,000 Americans are unemployed, as grim as this number is it does not show the whole picture. There are another 9 million unemployed workers who no longer receive benefits and have not found employment. Individuals in this group have been deemed by BLS to no longer desire employment and have been adjusted out of the U6 figures. The true unemployment figure is 19.9% rather than the 8.6% being reported.

A drive down Main Street, USA tells the story of how hard the recent economic downturn has affected the American people and their dreams to own a business. There are empty businesses on every block. Take a stroll in the local mall and store after store offers nothing but vacant sales spaces. Shoppers are finding higher prices at the grocery stores, gas pumps and also other necessities.

While the worst of the home foreclosure crisis seems to be behind the nation, there are still many finding it difficult to stay in their homes while others are struggling to find funds to maintain and repair their homes.

After a Saturday out running errands and listening to others in her community expressing frustration and despair regarding their situations, Debbie Langley, TUHF Incorporated, CFO, came home and shared with her family “There are so many people who feel hopeless where they are in life. What can we do to change this?”

Langley explained, “As a family we wanted to do something to change this atmosphere and bring back hope and encouragement to everyone we encounter”. This was the birth of The Legacy Project. She continued, “Our family owned company, TUHF Incorporated, is an expression of gratitude for what we have, and an outlet to pay it forward, so this was a natural fit.”

The Legacy Project is wrapping up June 2, 2012, with their culminating event, leadership training with Chad Hymas, internationally recognized author, speaker and trainer, to be held in the Grande Ballroom on the Utah Valley University Campus, in Orem, Utah. After hearing recent graduates bemoan the difficult job market, TUHF Incorporated, recognized a need to help these graduates and other job seekers find an opportunity to set themselves apart from the rank and file unemployed.

They have decided to absorb most of the $75/ ticket cost of this leadership training making tickets an affordable price of $10. Each participant will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the seminar. Tickets are available at thelegacyproject.eventbrite.com.

In keeping with the goals of The Legacy Project “Making someone’s life better” a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the SCERA Center for the Arts.

While the project will officially end June 2, 2012, Langley emphasized that its ideals will continue to be a driving force in their company.
