TalkPoint, the industry leader in global communications technology, specializing in browser-based audio and video webcasting, has partnered with 77kids by American Eagle Outfitters to sponsor Leave Out Violence’s (LOVE) Tri for Love. On Sunday, September 25, employees from both companies will participate in the Olympic-distance triathlon to support LOVE’s mission to reduce and eliminate youth violence.
The Tri for Love event is part of the larger Jarden Westchester Triathlon, a premier race in the Northeast. Individual and relay teams will complete a 0.9M swim, 25M bike and 6.2M run to benefit at risk youth who are victims, survivors, witnesses and/or perpetrators of violence.
While TalkPoint employees participate in a number of charitable races throughout the year, the Tri for Love event has increased the company’s philanthropic contribution outside of athletic involvement. In preparation for the Tri for Love, the TalkPoint team has also signed up to volunteer on race day and donated time to coordinate race-related mixers and other events.
“After attending the Jarden-Westchester Triathlon last year, I recognized the opportunity to spread LOVE’s message of preventing violence while raise money for its programs,” said Marienne Hill-Treadway, executive vice president on LOVE’s board of directors. “With the help of my training partner, J.J. Strong, and friend Nick Balletta, we assembled the LOVE triathlon team. LOVE is extremely grateful to Nick’s company, TalkPoint, and 77kids from American Eagle for sponsoring our first triathlon.”
“I attended the Westchester Triathlon last year as a spectator, and it is honor for me to join 77kids and participate this year as an athlete in support of LOVE,” said Nick Balletta, CEO of TalkPoint. “The TalkPoint team hopes that our triathlon involvement will help communicate LOVE’s message of nonviolence.”
