Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) February 05, 2013
The National Association of Tax Resolution Companies (NATRC) issued an alert to their tax debt resolution members on Friday, February 1st concerning the recent Colorado Uniform Debt Management Services Act (CUDMSA). The alert details the new Colorado Uniform Debt Management Services Act, including a mandate that tax debt relief companies must comply with. The law requires the settlement of a debt and payment to the creditor by the consumer before any fees may be imposed by the tax relief firm. Posting of a bond not less than $50,000 is also required.
“This is a time of crisis for the tax debt resolutions industry,” said Michael Rozbruch, President of the National Association of Tax Resolution Companies. “Other states are also considering what Colorado has done and may follow suit. It is imperative for our association to disseminate this information. Tax Professionals who want to protect their practices which helps consumers need to join NATRC immediately to align with their professional peers to help reverse these laws.”
The National Association Tax Resolution Companies (NATRC) is actively working with the state of Colorado, the IRS Office of Professional Responsibility, the Uniform Law Commission and their members to help reverse the mandate connected with the Colorado Uniform Debt Management Services Act. The NATRC announced that they would be working on behalf of legitimate tax practitioners and taking the lead to seek exemptions for tax resolution companies to state laws and new legislation.
