If high school students plan to do something unusual before college, consider take part in Sino's service program in 2014 summer, and take advantage of the year-end special before 12/31.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) December 25, 2013

Community service is increasingly recognized as an important means to promote positive development among teenagers. And community service is recognized, and appreciated, by college admissions officers. Admissions officers want to admit students who will contribute to their college community – is that you?

Sino Language Gateway's Leadership & Service summer program has been welcomed for over 8 years. This program combines an International Youth Conference which offers keynote, forums and youth experience sharing, an English-teaching project that could earn up to 80 community service hours (can also be used for CAS or Leadership program), leadership skill training, Chinese language learning, culture activities, sightseeing and traveling altogether. No Chinese background is required. Participants will do team-teaching to a class of Chinese students. Teens in this program learn to develop a sense of responsibility and also become more independent, mature, and open-minded individuals.

To further enhance the international exchange experience and global learning, Sino Language is adding a brand new component - International Youth Conference, to the 2014 program. Participants will join high school students from US, China, Korea, Canada and Europe, college students of top Chinese universities, industry leaders, entrepreneurs and education professionals for this unique experience! The following activities are included:

  •     Keynote industry and academic speakers
  •     Forums and breakout discussions covering topics such as leadership, culture, social & community service, academic excellence, global learning, technology innovation, studying Mandarin, working in China as a foreigner, and landing a summer internship in China
  •     Youth experience sharing presentation competition
  •     Activities designed to meet and interact with Chinese students
  •     Campus visit to experience life on Chinese campuses

The program accepts high schoolers age 14-18 and takes place in Beijing. Two 21-days sessions are available in 2014, they are: 7/07 to 7/27 and 7/19 to 8/08.

Although Thanksgiving holiday has passed, giving thanks should never stop. Thanks is given for your health, for your friends and family, and for educational opportunities. Yet there are people less fortunate, and without the same opportunities. Sino Language encourages students to consider give back to their community, either at their own small one at home or the bigger one across border and culture, and share their talents. If they plan to do something unusual before college, consider take part in Sino's service program in 2014 summer, and take advantage of the year-end special before 12/31.
