Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 19, 2008 -- Not only is February 2008 remarkable because it's leap year, but it's also this month in which TheShoeGoddess turns a year old. Move over Brittney, TheShoeGoddess is the one to watch these days. After all it's got the three F's: fashion, fun, and most importantly, philanthropy.

One click onto the site, festooned in fashion-forward stripes in delicious shades of pink, pulls you into a luxurious world of shoes, shoes, and more shoes. Daily posts about various kicks to this new blog on the block keep the dedicated readers coming back for more, en masse. So much so that just a few months after going live, Florence Azria, proprietor, had to bring in additional staff to keep up with the traffic.

Let not all the foot candy fool you though, this site stands heels and soles above the rest with a mission and humanitarian vision that centers on the children of South Central L.A. After volunteering for years at a local after school program, it became Azria's passion to provide more for these inner-city children and she set about doing so with TheShoeGoddess.

About TheShoeGoddess

TheShoeGoddess came to be when founder Florence Azria began selling her shoes on Ebay to raise money in support of A Place Called Home (APCH), her favorite charity. Once the onslaught of e-mails asking for shoe advice came from her buyers and followers, she decided to create TheShoeGoddess-- what she refers to as a small blog for shoe lovers that quickly grew beyond her expectations.

With fame comes growing pains and so Matt Lum, architect of PerezHilton.com, came aboard as the Web Designer, followed by L.A. based Associate Editor Hilary Hawn and Paul David as the PR and Marketing Director. The latest addition to TheShoeGoddess family is Galit Adler, Feature Correspondent from New York. TheShoeGoddess' commitment to their readers is to continuously improve the site with new features and engaging insider interviews, and to introduce talented new designers. Along with providing a daily fix for the world's shoe addicts.

About Florence Azria

A married blogger from Beverly Hills, Florence Azria is indeed a shoe lover, but making dreams come true is her passion. Her self proclaimed ambition is to be able to provide scholarships for L.A.'s underprivileged youth. She believes that through education people will find the meaning of peace. In this effort she has provided computers for kids as well as given a father of two the opportunity to go back to school and finish his education as a medical student.

She further hopes, through TheShoeGoddess.net, to not only provide fun shoe gist and great fashion tips, but most importantly to draw the readership necessary to attract more advertisers to the site, the proceeds of which become donations to APCH. She further aspires to create more programs at APCH, such as the cooking class she teaches once a week at the center -- and to renovate the kitchen there as well.

About APCH

As stated on their site, APCH considers itself a dynamic youth enrichment center founded in 1993. Their mission is to provide at-risk youth with a secure, positive family environment where they can regain hope and belief, earn trust and self-respect and learn skills to lead to a productive lifestyle free of the gangs, drugs and poverty that surround them. No small task; they help inner city youth find their dreams through educational enrichment.

APCH is more than just a youth center, it is also an after school program that not only provides a safe haven for many children but enables them to learn and enjoy many activities such as music, dance, creative expression, yoga, computer literacy and much more. But, first and foremost it shields these children from the dangers of gang violence and drugs. A Place Called Home
