Online calculator gallery CalculatorSoup® recently announced new features for its free, customizable employee time card, TimeCardCalculator.net, making it ready for the holiday workforce. The new features include the ability to handle California overtime law, remember data, save settings and print time card reports.
"As the holiday work season approaches, employees and businesses are finding the employee time card a valuable tool for figuring hours for part-time and temporary work," says Ed Furey, CalculatorSoup® CEO and developer.
The time card calculator is used year-round by individuals to record and calculate their weekly work hours and print timesheets. Payroll departments and staffing companies find it useful for processing multiple employees.
“Companies often direct their employees to our site to settle and print weekly or monthly time reports,” says Furey. “Part-time and holiday workers will find that the time card calculator suits their needs, too, for tracking, checking and recording their hours.”
TimeCardCalculator.net launched in 2009 and underwent a major upgrade during the spring and summer of 2012, incorporating many user suggestions and requests. The time card calculator, including the new mobile web site application m.timecardcalculator.net, reaches 10,000 users each week, and boasts a high return rate.
Furey finds that users often share the time card with others, mostly via e-mail.
The CEO/developer welcomes suggestions for improvements. “We are happy to respond to requests for new features. Since our last update, we have already received half a dozen new ideas that are under consideration as new features to be added,” he says.
A recent TimeCardCalculator.net feature is the ability to handle California’s overtime law. Most states use the Federal government’s overtime law, while California and a few other states have unique rules. Using the time card calculator, California workers can choose from several configurations, then enter their hours and pay rates. The time card reports distinguish straight time, overtime and double time hours and rates. TimeCardCalculator.net can also handle Canadian overtime law.
Other features are the ability to remember data, save settings and print reports. Users can return every day to enter work hours, then run a final calculation at the end of each week and print their reports.
Optional settings include a 12-hour or 24-hour military clock; calculations for one, two, three or four weeks at a time (weekly, biweekly or monthly); and rounding hours to tenths, hundredths or thousands. A robust Help page allows users to quickly navigate features.
