Cookbook Author Figures Out How to Clone KFC's Latest Secret Recipe
Renowned famous food cloner Todd Wilbur creates an amazing recipe that closely duplicates the taste of KFC's® new grilled chicken and reveals his technique in a video posted Monday on YouTube.
Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) May 20, 2009 -- Bestselling cookbook author Todd Wilbur uses a variety of techniques, including interviewing KFC® employees at the drive-thru and analyzing an acquired sample of the secret seasoning, to create a recipe for home-cooked chicken that looks and tastes surprisingly similar to KFC's® new grilled chicken.
Wilbur, who has authored a series of eight "Top Secret Recipes" trade paperbacks containing taste-alike recipes for well-known brand-name products including McDonald's® Big Mac® and Snickers® Candy Bar, posted a video to YouTube earlier this week which shows him quizzing KFC® employees through a drive-thru speaker, and then driving off with a sample of the seasoning used on the new chicken product.
In the video Wilbur then demonstrates his technique for recreating the chicken, which includes ingredients such as liquid smoke and chicken bouillon, and a baking technique that requires the chicken to be first seared on a grill pan to add grill marks similar to the original version.
The video was posted to YouTube on Monday and quickly racked up over 4300 views, ranking it in the top 20 most viewed How-To videos for the day on the website. Wilbur reveals the entire recipe on his website at www.TopSecretRecipes.com, along with hundreds of other copycat recipes for famous foods.
