The Patanjali Yoga Sutras and Its Spiritual Practice” (published by Balboa Press AU) is a spirituality book that offers a broader, modern-day and philosophical interpretation of yoga in order to enhance one’s practice and understanding. Author Tony Nguyen says it is a guide and moral support for a yogi preparing for the spiritual journey and to release the burden of a mundane life.

“Nowadays, many people lead their mind into the spiritual practice so that they can liberate their innermost self from the ocean of suffering of this mundane life,” he says. “This book is based on the principle of ancient texts but I also use my own experience of practicing yoga from beginning to liberate an innermost self to influence in this writing.”

Nguyen explains that the book gives tips on helping those wanting to start practicing yoga advice on finding a spiritual master. “These sutras are the important guiding that leads yogi… step by step, practicing from the beginning to the advanced level of consciousness and in the end yogi will release the true purusa within him or her. That is one of the main (reasons) why it is important to the story.”

An excerpt from “The Patanjali Yoga Sutras and Its Spiritual Practice”:
Patanjali has warned the yogi not to hold on to the occult power, as it is the cause of bad karma to his or her spirit. However, when a yogi has completed his or her spiritual journey, he or she should use his or her knowledge of practicing yoga to guide others who wish to practice yoga for the main purpose of liberating their innermost selves.
