Tools4ever, the market leader in Identity & Access Management (IdM/IAM) solutions, has made its Self Service Reset Password Management (SSRPM) suitable for BYOD. With the latest version of SSRPM, employees can now use the service on mobile systems i.e.; laptops, tablets, handheld computers and smartphones, so that end users can easily reset their Windows passwords anywhere, anytime. Once the end user has answered a set of questions correctly, the user may then reset his or her own password.

Additionally, CAPTCHA functionally was added to the available web interface. The CAPTCHA functionality requires users to enter the randomly generated letters and numbers shown in order to verify they are human. This functionality can easily be enabled or disabled by the system administrator.

Apart from SSRPM now being mobile-friendly, in the latest version it is possible to add SSRPM profiles on the basis of security groups. Previously, profiles were only assignable at the domain or Organizational Unit (OU) levels. This feature has been developed specifically for organizations which do not wish to modify their OU structure for the implementation of SSRPM. Additionally, the software has been translated into Chinese.

“We are seeing that the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) concept is being embraced increasingly,” notes Dean Wiech, Managing Director of Tools4ever East. “This means we are also making all our Identity & Access Management software suitable for mobile systems and also for working from home. Thus we introduced offline support in SSRPM last year, for end users with a laptop but without a connection to the corporate network, who have forgotten their username and/or password but need to log into their laptop.”

Self Service Reset Password Management from Tools4ever is extremely user-friendly. If end users have forgotten their username and/or password but still want to log in, they can click the extra ‘Forgot My Password’ button SSRPM offers. SSRPM then launches the self-service password reset wizard and presents a number of questions the user previously enrolled with. After the questions have been answered, SSRPM then logs the end user in automatically.
