William J. Labovitz has joined the firm of Rothman Gordon as a litigator. Mr. Labovitz’s practice centers on commercial litigation. Rothman Gordon, which has 29 attorneys, believes that Mr. Labovitz will augment its Litigation practice group with his sixteen-plus years of experience. He will concentrate on complex commercial/business disputes, as well as advising closely-held, family businesses, and start-ups. Prior to joining Rothman Gordon, Mr. Labovitz began his career as a litigation associate at K&L Gates. He honed his litigation skills at Lewis & Sargent, LLC, where he became a partner, and at Lynch Weis, LLC.
Mr. Labovitz received his B.A. in History from Tufts University. He was graduated, magna cum laude, from Boston University School of Law in 1995, where he earned best brief honors in the Stone Moot Court Competition and where he participated in the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition.
Mr. Labovitz is an adjunct faculty member of Point Park University, where he teaches Communication Law and Regulation. He resides in Mount Lebanon with his wife and three children. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of Temple Emanuel of South Hills in Mount Lebanon and a recipient of the Temple Emanuel Young Leadership Award (June 2004). He chairs the Mt. Lebanon Lebo Cup Soccer Program.
