Trajectory, Inc. today announced NOOK® editions of Stephen Huneck’s iconic Sally series of children’s books. The series of seven stories includes the New York Times Best Selling title "Sally Goes to the Beach." The eBooks are available for download at BN.com.
The Sally series chronicles the adventures of the Huneck’s yellow lab. The stories include "Sally Goes to the Beach," "Sally Goes to the Farm," "Sally Goes to the Mountains," "Sally Goes to the Vet," "Sally’s Snow Adventure," "Sally Gets a Job and Sally’s Great Balloon Adventure." The stories incorporate high-resolution digital images of Huneck’s classic woodblock prints and a heartfelt storyline that really captures the way Stephen interpreted the way dog's think. Amanda McDermott from Dog Mountain narrated the series. Amanda worked side by side with Stephen and continues to work together with Gwen Huneck at Dog Mountain.
“Education and entertainment are deep in Trajectory’s DNA. We believe there is a timeless quality associated with the finest works of literature and art and we are committed to deliver these great works in the best way for people today to experience,” said Jim Bryant, Trajectory’s CEO.
Stephen Huneck was an internationally acclaimed painter, sculptor and printer as well as the creator of the Dog Chapel in St. Johnsbury, VT where he lived. Stephen’s widow, Gwendolyn Huneck, said “I am ecstatic by the marvelous job Trajectory did in creating the NOOK version of the Sally series. Also, like Stephen’s artwork, the Sally series appeals to Sally fans of all ages. The project is especially meaningful to me since the eBooks became a reality through the hard work of our dear friend, Jim Bryant, and his team. Stephen must be smiling. I know I am.”
According to Boston Magazine, “The work of Stephen Huneck is like laughter – enriching to life and uplifting to the soul.”
