Tru Optik, the only audience measurement and data management platform built for OTT, today announced that it has named Marshall Cohen to its Board of Advisors. Cohen, a television, internet and media research industry pioneer with deep experience in broadcast and cable television, interactive media, media research and strategy, leads Marshall Cohen Associates, a consulting and market research firm that advises many traditional and new media companies on consumer strategy and research measurement issues.

Cohen, who was on the original management team that launched the cable channels MTV, VH1, Nick at Nite, TV Land and Comedy Central, built the consumer research departments at MTV Networks and AOL. He has also consulted for many of the nation's top television programming companies, including CBS, ESPN, Discovery, Oxygen, PBS, The Weather Channel and The Food Network.

Beyond running Marshall Cohen Associates, Cohen is also a member of the Pilot Group, a New York-based private equity firm. He recently served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Research at Univision Communications and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Electronic Media Ratings Council, The Advertising Research Foundation (ARF), the Board of Governors of the National Academy of Cable Programming, the Board of Directors of the Cable Television Administration and Marketing Society (CTAM), where he served for many years as the Chairman of the CTAM Industry Research Committee. In May of 2012, Cohen was inducted into the prestigious Cable Television Pioneers.
