New Web Site Chronicles 90 Years of UCLA Extension Stories

UCLA Extension: Your Story Is Our Story, a new interactive Web site, chronicles 90 years of UCLA Extension student success stories. If you've ever taken a UCLA Extension course, this is your site, for your story. If you've ever wanted to take a UCLA continuing education course, in person or online, this site is your chance to learn how UCLA Extension courses can help you grow personally and professionally.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 25, 2007 -- This summer marks UCLA Extension's 90th anniversary and to help celebrate we've launched UCLA Extension: Your Story Is Our Story, a Web site chronicling 90 years of UCLA Extension student success stories.

If you've ever taken a UCLA Extension course, this is your site, for your story. If you've ever wanted to take a UCLA continuing education course, in person or online, this site is your chance to learn how UCLA Extension courses can help you grow personally and professionally.

The Web site, story.uclaextension.edu, is an online community of past and present UCLA Extension students sharing their unique stories. The site already includes stories from engineers and animators, screenwriters, teachers and composers -- stories as diverse as UCLA Extension students themselves. From great teachers and life-changing classes to career moves and simply learning for learning's sake, everyone who takes a UCLA Extension course has a story to tell -- maybe that's why some UCLA Extension students take dozens or hundreds of courses!

Read how UCLA Extension has been improving students' lives for 90 years, and share your own UCLA Extension story with us: Visit story.uclaextension.edu.

UCLA Extension History

In 1917, the University of California Extension Southern Branch opened in Los Angeles, offering almost 100 classes in seven locations and enrolling more than 1,600 students. Since then, the Southern Branch -- now UCLA Extension -- has upheld a tradition of educational excellence and innovation. Today, we offer some 4,500 courses each year, linking more than 60,000 students to new opportunities through lifelong learning.

UCLA Extension courses are open to all adult learners. Designed to meet the needs of working adults, UCLA Extension courses are offered during the day, in the evening and on weekends at locations throughout Los Angeles. A pioneer in distance learning, UCLA Extension offers hundreds of courses online, too. UCLA Extension also reaches out to students all over the world with programs throughout the United States and abroad.

To learn more about all that UCLA Extension has to offer, visit www.uclaextension.edu.
