University of Maryland, Baltimore County Training Forum, April 2, 2009

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County's spring Training Forum is an event, free to the community, that provides an opportunity for individuals working or interested in training, education, business, government and the non-profit sector to share ideas and dialogue on topics of importance.

Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) February 28, 2009 -- The University of Maryland, Baltimore County's Spring Training Forum will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the UMBC Ballroom. Guest speaker, Dr. Michael Marquardt, Professor of Human Resource Development and Program Director of Overseas Programs at George Washington University will discuss Action Learning.

Here is what guests can expect to learn:
- Understand and demonstrate how and why action learning is effective in solving problems, building teams, developing leaders, and creating learning organizations
- Apply the six elements and two ground rules of action learning as well as the questioning and reflection processes of action learning
- Understand the skills and roles of the action learning coach
- Identify the various options available in introducing and tailoring action learning for an organization

Part of UMBC's mission is to provide service. Dr. Greg Williams, ISD program director at UMBC says, "We take pride in our partnerships with employers and other organizations in the community, and are able to give back with events like the Training Forum."

This event is free and open to the public. The UC Ballroom is located on campus in the University Center. UMBC campus is located off Interstate 195 in Catonsville at 1000 Hilltop Circle. If interested in attending, please RSVP online at UMBC Training Forum.

About UMBC Training Forums:
UMBC Training Forums are held twice a year in mid-fall and mid-spring, and are always in the evenings. These events are sponsored by the ISD-Training Systems Graduate Program. In many instances, the training forums consist of panels of experts discussing topics related to business, organizational productivity and workplace learning and performance. Other topics center around issues related to human performance improvement, training and employee development, improving individual and organizational effectiveness and other related subjects.
