Columbus, OH (PRWEB) October 22, 2012
On October 18, 2012, Plaintiff Barbara Keefer filed a putative class and collective action lawsuit in the United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio seeking minimum wages and overtime pay from her current employer, Union Savings Bank. The Complaint asserts that Union Savings Bank misclassified its loan officers as exempt, paying them on a commission-only basis, and denying them minimum wages and overtime pay when they worked more than forty (40) hours in a workweek. Plaintiff Keefer, and those similarly situated, seek to be compensated for those hours worked.
Union Savings Bank is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. It operates approximately 29 branches in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky, and employs more than 100 loan officers. Attorney Reena Desai of Nichols Kaster, PLLP stated, “It is our position that Union Savings Bank violated federal and state overtime and minimum wage laws. We intend to help these loan officers recover any overtime and minimum wages they may be due under the law."
The case is titled Keefer v. Union Savings Bank, Case No. 2:12-cv-966 (S.D. Ohio). The group is represented by Paul Lukas and Reena Desai of Nichols Kaster, PLLP in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and by Matthew R. Wilson of Meyer Wilson Co., LPA in Columbus, Ohio .
