Demand Still High for Licensed Practical Nurses in BC
Seats still available for PN program at Vancouver Career College’s Burnaby campus
Burnaby, BC (Vocus/PRWEB ) October 27, 2009 -- Licensed Practical Nurses continue to be in high demand in British Columbia. The retirement of current LPNs, combined with an increased need for nursing care from the province’s aging population, is driving the demand in this career field. Anyone looking to launch a health care career can turn to Vancouver Career College Practical Nursing program, which is now taking applications for a November start.
“There is still a major shortage of nurses in BC,” says Rodney King, Nursing Registrar at Vancouver Career College. “The Practical Nursing program only takes one year, so students can be working in the field very quickly.”
The 52-week PN program trains students in a variety of areas, building a skill set that will be transferable to careers in hospitals, private clinics and nursing homes.
