VehicleHistory.com has just started a major overhaul to their site to improve functionality in the new year, the company said yesterday.
“Starting at the end of December, we began looking at our site with a critical eye,” a VehicleHistory.com spokesman said. “We always want to improve, so we thought that was a good time to start thinking about what we could be doing better. We want to have the best service and website for our customers to use.”
VehicleHistory.com also sent out polls to customers asking them where they thought the company could improve, he said.
“The thing that came up the most often was that people wanted the search process to be faster and easier,” he said. “So, we are going to simplify the questions we ask customers during the search process. Then, we are going to upgrade our servers so that when a search starts, the results are returned more quickly than before.”
VehicleHistory.com will also change the layout of the site to make it easier for customers to understand, he said.
“Some people were having trouble finding the Live Chat option on the homepage,” he said. “And other people thought the color scheme could be brighter. Both of those issues are now being addressed.”
The upgrades are expected to take roughly two months to complete, he said.
“You can't rush a major site upgrade, or else you risk the chances of glitches being introduced into the system,” he said. “Everything will be tested to heck and back before we let it go live.”
