Victaulic, the world's leading manufacturer of mechanical pipe joining systems, will highlight the advantages of grooved mechanical piping in power plants at POWER-GEN International this week in Orlando. Research manager Doug Dole will deliver a presentation on the use of grooved mechanical piping in the power generation industry, and the company will exhibit its line of pipe-joining products at booth #1734.
Dole’s presentation, “Increasing plant efficiencies with grooved mechanical piping,” will take place during the Mechanical Improvements session, part of the Plant Performance track, on Wednesday, December 15, from 1:30–3:30 PM in room W303 B. Dole will discuss the applications and benefits of grooved piping within power plants, as well as the history, fundamentals and reliability of the pipe-joining method.
At its booth, Victaulic will highlight its involvement in three projects nominated for Power Engineering Projects of the Year Awards, including the Canoe Creek hydroelectric project, owned by Barkley Project Group Ltd.; the W.H. Sammis air quality control project, owned by FirstEnergy Generation Corp.; and Luminant's Oak Grove coal-fired power plant.
Victaulic will also display an array of solutions for the power industry, including its fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) coupling, flue gas desulfurization (FGD) nozzle coupling, Style 152A expansion joint coupling, Victaulic Vortex Fire Suppression System, Installation-Ready couplings, and large-diameter Advanced Groove System (AGS) couplings.
