VideoPropulsion® (OTC:VPTV) broadens the Company's industry leading FloodGate® family of MPEG-based digital TV headend appliances with the introduction of the Deluge DG-1000 DVB-ASI to IP gateway. The DG-1000 is capable of processing MPEG-2 multiple program transport streams (MPTS) or single program transport streams (SPTS) as input from or output to up to 12 different DVB-ASI sources. The unit allows selection of desired input program(s) per ASI input port, provides optional CBR conversion by specifying a bitrate floor for output, multiplexes the selected streams, and outputs MPTS (or SPTS for single program inputs) via IP multicast on gigabit Ethernet. The DG-1000 is the perfect solution for selecting and converting DVB-ASI source programs to or from multicast IP outputs for MPEG-based digital cable TV headends.
The DG-1000 has a simple and easy to use web-based graphical user interface for configuration and management. It offers visual inspection and selection of input source streams for grooming inbound MPTS, and includes automatic NULL packet stripping (on input) and stuffing (on output) as needed, and optional PSIP pass-through.
"MPEG-based digital cable and other commercial headend operators have been frustrated with the high cost of processing MPEG transport streams from DVB-ASI sources”, said Lee McKenna, Vice President of Marketing for VideoPropulsion. "The DG-1000 sets a new benchmark for the lowest cost per stream in the industry without sacrificing the features needed most by operators.”
The FloodGate Deluge DG-1000 is now shipping and is available direct from VideoPropulsion.
