Choosing a school for your child is extremely important. We want to provide parents with as much information as possible to help them navigate their school choice decision

Baltimore, MD (Vocus) April 10, 2009

Leading K-12 virtual school provider, Connections Academy announced today the launch of its new public Web site, ConnectionsAcademy.com. The Connections Academy Web site offers a wealth of information for students and families interested in learning about virtual school and Connections Academy's high-quality, highly accountable, tuition-free program.

In addition to learning about the program, families may enroll students in a Connections Academy school through the new Web site. Enrollment in Connections Academy schools for the 2009-10 school year opened on April 1st.

"Our goal was to produce an engaging, informative, and user-friendly site that reflects our high-quality and well-respected virtual school program," commented Michele Clark, Director of Online Marketing for Connections Academy. "In addition, the new look strives to capture the warmth of our schools and teachers and the feelings of success our students experience."

To colorfully illustrate the features and benefits of Connections Academy, such as personalized learning, and to appeal to varying audiences, the new Web site offers more multi-media presentations and video shorts.

In addition, there is increased emphasis on student success and parent satisfaction. A new "Proven Results" section highlights the results of Connections Academy's annual parent satisfaction survey (e.g., 95% of parents would recommend Connections Academy), and will contain information about Connections Academy schools and their academic achievements. Parent quotes and student stories are also featured throughout the site. Through the "Contact a Parent" feature, parents who are considering the virtual school can connect with parents who have students currently enrolled in Connections Academy.

Susan Fancher, Vice President for Marketing at Connections Academy said that the new Web site incorporates extensive research into what parents and students look for when they visit http://www.ConnectionsAcademy.com and how to best organize the information presented there. "Right away, and right from the home page, parents and students find answers to the questions most often on their minds: What is Connections Academy?, Why Choose Connections Academy?, and How do I Enroll? You'll also find details about each Connections Academy school, teachers, top-quality curriculum, and our innovative use of technology."

Additionally, the Web site offers a host of outside resources on the topics of education and online learning including reports, studies, and other reference materials. "Choosing a school for your child is extremely important. We want to provide parents with as much information as possible to help them navigate their school choice decision," Fancher continued.

Connections Academy partnered with Fastspot, the Baltimore-based, interactive design agency to design the new Web site. Connections Academy's Clark said, "Our site needs to present a lot of information in a well-organized, logical, and user-friendly way. Fastspot's skills and approach were a good fit with our organization. We are very pleased with the result and will continue to add new features to the site." Tracy Halvorsen, Principal and Creative Director or Fastspot, added, "Connections Academy was a very collaborative client, which was instrumental in allowing our marketing partnership to accurately represent their schools and mission. We are confident the new information, organization and user-centered design will allow Connections Academy to exceed their communications objectives."

Connections Academy provides personalized K-12 education outside the traditional classroom, combining a proven curriculum, unique technology tools, and an extensive offering of electives, clubs, and community experiences to create academic and personal success for students.
