McFarland, WI (PRWEB) February 03, 2014
Wisconsin Virtual Academy, a tuition-free online public school for students in grades K-12, reminds parents they need to act soon to keep their school options open heading into the 2014-15 school year.
Parents considering enrolling their children in Wisconsin Virtual Academy (WIVA) or any other public school outside their resident district this fall must submit an application during the state’s open enrollment period: Feb. 3 through 4 p.m. CST April 30, 2014.
“We look forward to meeting new families during Open Enrollment to talk more about how we educate Wisconsin students in an online setting. We firmly believe in our individualized learning approach that is ideal for all types of learners, and encourage families to attend an upcoming event to learn how our program might be a good fit,” said Dr. Leslye Erickson, Wisconsin Virtual Academy Head of School.
Wisconsin Virtual Academy, an online public charter school authorized by the McFarland School District, offers highly individualized online education.
“Virtual schooling with WIVA is a good fit for our family. It allows our daughter to take more time with challenging topics and move ahead more quickly when she masters a subject area,” said Suzanne Schuelke, a WIVA parent and learning coach. “The online classes, teacher conferences and phone calls keep us on track. We are thankful for WIVA!”
Submitting an application does not commit students to enroll in the school, but allows them to have the option of attending in the fall. More information about the application process can be found at http://www.k12.com/WIVA.
During the three-month open enrollment period, WIVA will host events across the state for families interested in learning more about why an online public school might be a good fit. Families can speak to Wisconsin Virtual Academy teachers and school staff to learn more about the program and get their questions answered.
