Westwood College Students Take Home Fourteen ADDY® Awards

Students' Work Honored at Annual Orange County and Inland Empire Advertising Award Events

Los Angeles (PRWEB) June 9, 2009 -- Students from the Westwood College - Anaheim Campus and Westwood College - Inland Empire Campus recently celebrated successful award nights in Orange County and the Inland Empire, taking home a total of 14 ADDY® Awards for their work in graphics and creative design.

A chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the Orange County Ad Club held its annual award night on March 21, 2009, where one gold, five silver and five merit awards were presented to Westwood College students from the Anaheim campus. In addition, Westwood Anaheim student Cameron Palm was the recipient of the 2009 Academic Achievement Award which honors academic talents in advertising-related disciplines.

Westwood students took home more awards from the Orange County Ad Club event than any other participating school. Anaheim campus winners were:

Inland Empire students celebrated their own victory by sweeping the category of "Single Consumer or Trade Magazine Ad" at the Inland Empire Ad Club's ADDY Awards on March 20, 2009.

Inland Empire campus winners were:
Gold ADDY
- Fatimah Tadjiki and Evelyn Medina

Silver ADDY
- Frank Salas and Chris Aguire

Bronze ADDY
- James Francisco and Danylis Garcia

"The recognition of Westwood students by these two Ad Clubs speaks to how Westwood College emphasizes real-world experience and helps students graduate with skills that are immediately applicable to their career paths," said John Hanson, Westwood College - Los Angeles Campus regional vice president. "This is an outstanding performance by our design school students, and we are thrilled by their accomplishments."

All Westwood students receiving this year's ADDY awards are enrolled in one of the college's eight School of Design programs. The School of Design is a professional and constructive environment where students learn practical skills for their careers. Courses are taught by professionals in the design industry, so content is engaging, challenging and relevant. The School of Design is one of Westwood's most popular programs and offers both bachelor's and associate degrees.
