Largest Public Wine Tasting and Benefit in Los Angeles: First Annual LA Wine Fest

Dr. Joel Fisher and Adam Leemon, co-organizers, are hopeful that the LA Wine Fest will become the friendly, smart alternative to LA’s yearly harvest of predictable wine festivals. With more than 100 wineries participating, LA Wine Fest offers a simple, demystifying education on the world of wine. Tickets ($40) available for September 16th & 17th at www.lawinefest.com or at the door (Vanguard, 6021 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, CA).

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 13, 2006 -- The first annual LA Wine Fest pours into Hollywood September 16 and 17. This groundbreaking event is the largest public wine festival to take place in Los Angeles.

Held at the Vanguard (6021 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, CA), more than 100 wineries will participate in this gala event. California wines headline the festivities and tasting, with wines from all around the globe, including: Australia, Europe, South America and Africa.

Food to complement the wine will be provided by some of the area's most intriguing restaurants, including: Joseph's Cafe, Victors, Blue Palm, Petes from downtown, Sushi Plus and Tiger Lily.

"We felt there was no better place to host a gathering of global wineries than Los Angeles, home to so many diverse cultures and tastes," said Joel Fisher, co-organizer of the wine festival.

Dr. Fisher's resume includes: wine columnist for the American Culinary Federation Los Angeles’ Culinary Connection, editor of the Vineyard Report, wine educator for the Art Institute of Los Angeles, member of the Bon Appetite Magazine and Patterson's Tasting Panels.

Fellow co-organizer, Adam Leemon, is an award-winning sommelier and can be heard weekly on the nationally syndicated radio program, The Tasting Room, with Tom Leykis on KLSX. By offering a laid back, smart, casual and demystifying wine festival to Angelinos, founders Fisher and Leemon are hopeful that LA Wine Fest will become the smart, friendly alternative to LA’s yearly harvest of predictable, but respectable wine festivals.

During the event sommelier and wine making programs will be hosted. Open to the public, these symposiums will offer an interesting education on the world of wines for both the novice and knowledgeable wine enthusiasts.

The first Annual LA Wine Fest event at the Vanguard in Hollywood is open to the general public. Times: Saturday, September 16, 12-6 pm, Sunday, September 17, 2-8 pm Tickets available at LaWineFest.com or $40 at the door.
