Since this year the President's Day holiday weekend includes Valentine's Day, the popular retreat, located in the heart of Central Virginia, is honoring America's forefathers and sweethearts alike with discounted rates accented by an array of fun activities.
The long weekend begins Friday, Feb. 13 with a Couple's Massage Workshop from 4-6 p.m. Saturday - Valentine's Day - guests will "feel the love" in the Blue Ridge Mountain air with myriad treatments at the Wintergarden Spa, a romantic dinner for two at The Copper Mine or Devils Grill and, finally, swing dance lessons from 7-10 p.m. A dozen red roses may be ordered through online reservations, or via the in-house staff for delivery on Feb. 14.
The weekend continues Sunday with Freestyle Double Cross, a challenging race on skis or snowboards through a specially designed progression park. The race will be divided into heats - organized by age, gender, ski and board - with four competitors participating in each round, while first- and second-place finishers advance to the next round.
Wintergreen also is hosting Late Night Thrills, where the slopes stay open until midnight. Evening activities include late night tubing, a rail jam from 7-9 p.m., and a Teen party in The Dome.
The Resort's discounted overnight rates for Presidents Day weekend are:
