Mission Viejo, CA (Vocus/PRWEB ) November 14, 2008 -- Bird-B-Gone, Inc, leading manufacturer of humane and effective bird deterrents announces a new product, the Woodpecker Deterrent Kit.

Home owners in both urban and rural settings routinely deal with woodpeckers drumming or pecking into the side of their home. For many, the damage can result in thousands of dollars in repairs, as woodpeckers can easily peck into wood and stucco, and target metal features like gutters or antennas.

The Woodpecker Deterrent Kit contains two visual deterrents that can easily be applied to the side of a home or wherever the woodpecker is pecking. Birds take visual clues from their environment to help alarm them of danger, seek food or shelter, and navigate.

The kit includes a 50 foot roll of Mylar Flash Tape; a highly reflective Mylar film, and a Bird-B-Gone Balloon; a vinyl balloon with mock-predator eyes around the exterior. The Kit also includes 3 hanging brackets to make installation simple and fast. When the woodpecker sees the Mylar flash tape and scare eye balloon, they will want to avoid the area and find a more secure spot for pecking.

Visual Deterrents are a proven method for deterring birds, and are highly recommended by the Humane Society of America for successfully discouraging woodpeckers. Once the Woodpecker moves on for a better location, the deterrents can be removed, and stored away. The Woodpecker kit offers an environmentally safe alternative to chemical spray repellents, and its maintenance free.

Bird-B-Gone has been in the business of Bird Control for over 16 years, and is dedicated to solving pest bird problems. In addition to the woodpecker kit, Bird-B-Gone offers a complete line of effective Bird Deterrents such as Bird Spikes, Netting, Sound Deterrents, Solar Repellers, and more.
