In response to the worst violence between Israel and Gaza in more than a year, WorldVentures Representatives in Israel and the United States are banning together to raise 150,000 shekels to rebuild and fortify a Sderot synagogue destroyed by one of the 200 rockets to hit Israel since Friday.

Though the Iron Dome has intercepted more than 50 of the rockets launched by militants, others have still reached the country, resulting in civilian deaths, destroyed property and school closings. Sderot, a working-class city home to 25,000, has historically been one the most of vulnerable cities in Israel because of its position near the Gaza-Israel border.

“We’re proud to have Representatives who, despite their own losses, are able to step outside of themselves and help a community in need, whether it’s around the corner or half a world away,” says WorldVentures Vice President of International Kyle Lowe. “WorldVentures is committed to doing whatever we can to support these Representatives in their efforts to rebuild the synagogue and Israel.”

The Representatives say their fundraising efforts are based on one of the company’s taglines: Make a living… Giving! The tagline has been adopted by WorldVentures Representatives in all of its 21 markets, and is based on the company’s mission of helping Representatives achieve fulfillment through their WorldVentures businesses. Representative contributions have resulted in clean-water solutions for 4,000 people in two countries; 13 “bottle schools” in Guatemala; and vocational training and business grants for 3,500 young mothers in post-war African countries.

“WorldVentures has given us so much, so it’s only right that we pass it forward,” says one WorldVentures Representative in Israel. “When the rockets began striking Israel, and we began seeing the effects—schools closing for fear of the children’s safety, innocent civilians living in uncertainty, buildings demolished—we knew we had to do something.”
