Chad Carlstedt, the personal chef behind Classic Culinaire, has announced new partnerships with local organic farms to obtain the most delicious and freshest produce that leaves the least impact on the environment.

The closer the produce, the fresher, better tasting and better it is for you. And when produce comes from nearby, less fuel and refrigeration is required, so it makes less of an impact on the environment.

This Earth Day, many Bay Area residents are thinking about ways they can be more environmentally friendly. Bay Area personal chef Chad Carlstedt, owner of Classic Culinaire, has already taken action to show his commitment to the environment and to sustainably grown local produce by partnering with two Sonoma County organic farms, Green String Farm and Valley End Farm, to get fresh produce on the same day it’s picked.

“Everyone needs to consume produce that is local,” says Chef Chad. “The closer the produce, the fresher, better tasting and better it is for you. And when produce comes from nearby, less fuel and refrigeration is required, so it makes less of an impact on the environment.”

Chef Chad will go to these farms twice a week to hand pick the best produce. Springtime favorites he’s using in his meal plans include strawberries, asparagus and crookneck yellow squash. He also uses fresh free-range eggs from Valley End Farm. By partnering with these local farms and farmers, Classic Culinaire has total control over the meals from start to finish, and menus will be prepared based on what is ripe to pick that week at the farm.

In addition to his commitment to sustainable environmental practices and cooking with only the best fresh ingredients, Chef Chad is careful to make sure every meal designs is made with consideration for the exact dietary specifications of each client. Chef Chad will also package, label, leave heating instructions, and of course leave the client’s kitchen spotless. The only evidence of his presence will be a refrigerator full of healthy, delicious food and a house full of mouth-watering aromas.
