The Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) applauds the efforts of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee in passing S. 744 – The Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act.
“Our nation’s immigration system has not worked properly for generations. As leaders of the U.S. hospitality industry, we need a properly functioning immigration system to help create jobs and grow our economy,” stated Mehul “Mike” Patel, AAHOA National Chairman. “We understand this is a lengthy process and we are happy to see a bipartisan effort move this legislation forward so that we know our nation’s border is secure and that America can maintain our position as the land of opportunity for immigrants from around the world.”
AAHOA President, Fred Schwartz, says the more than 11,000 AAHOA members stand ready to help support reform legislation as it moves through the process, “We are excited about the opportunity to strengthen the U.S. immigration system in ways that will increase tourism into our country while providing the economic opportunity that has been a hallmark of our nation’s history.
