Absolute Rights has released its newest Digital Newsletter, edition number 120 of the biweekly collection of news and opinion articles. Compiled by Managing Editor Tim Young, the Newsletter includes pieces on recycling, cruise ships, and Hollywood.
The featured article comes from contributor Grady Kerr, who debunks some common theories about recycling.
“The EPA has figured that, of the nation’s trash, about 30% is recycled today. They also admit that 40% of the trash picked up to be recycled ends up in a landfill instead,” Kerr wrote in the article. “Fact is, in almost every community, it’s more expensive to recycle than it is to simply throw it in their land fill.”
In the Contenders’ Corner section, Brent Dickerson shared his thoughts on a movie he watched, in which a super computer determined a regime change was necessary after the administration made a major mistake.
“We will never see a movie that casts the government or administration in a negative light such as this while a Democrat is in office,” wrote Dickerson. The article shines light on the popular movies since President Obama took office, and groups Hollywood with the rest of the media. “We have to be sensitive to the messages that are being presented to us everywhere telling us that liberalism is good, and conservatism is bad,” Dickerson said.
Crisis Ops, the Newsletter section that features survival and preparation advice, shared information on the cruise ship debacle, which article writer ‘Above Average’ Joe likened to a disaster. His upcoming Carnival Cruise departure has him worrying about the likelihood of a repeat situation.
“Needless to say,” wrote Joe, “in addition to sunscreen, flip flops, and swim trunks, my bags will be packed with the maximum allowable bottles of water and a good amount of snacks… possibly even a few freeze dried meals and ration bars.”
The last article fits into the Global Watch category and focuses on Desmond Tutu’s recent remarks about President Obama’s decisions to approve the targeted killing of suspected terrorists.
The article includes Tutu’s quote from a New York Times Letter to the Editor, and shares his disgust over the latest developments in America’s war on terror.
