Martin, Harding & Mazzotti Donated 300 Helmets for Area Children to be Given out at Wilton Bike Safety Day

As personal injury lawyers, we know the consequences of not fully protecting yourself, even when riding your bike around your block

To help keep safety on the minds of kids, personal injury law firm Martin, Harding & Mazzotti has teamed up with the Wilton Volunteer Fire Department for a Free Bike Safety Event. The event will be on Saturday, October 3rd where families can learn the rules of the road, proper bicycle maintenance and receive a free Bell Brand helmet.

The Free Bike Safety Event is scheduled to take place at the Wilton Fire Station at 270 Ballard Road in Wilton, NY from 1-3 PM Saturday, October 3rd, rain or shine.

Representatives from State Police Troop G, the Saratoga Cycling Club, Saratoga Healthy Transportation Network, Saratoga County Sheriff, the Wilton Volunteer Fire Department and Martin Harding & Mazzotti will be on hand to properly fit all participants with free helmets. They will also provide information on safely riding a bicycle in the road and proper bicycle maintenance.

"As personal injury lawyers, we know the consequences of not fully protecting yourself, even when riding your bike around your block," said Paul B. Harding, Managing Partner of Martin, Harding & Mazzotti. "The summer months aren't the only time children are riding around, so this program will focus on reminding families about the year-round safety concerns facing motorists, cyclists and pedestrians."

Children are encouraged to bring their bicycles as a safety obstacle course will be set up to help learn the proper way to read street signs and safely bike on shared roadways. A bike mechanic will also be on site with the appropriate tools to examine the participants' rides. Free hotdogs and beverages will be available to participants.

"Fires aren't the only safety concern local families should have," said Bill Morgan, Assistant Chief of the Wilton Fire Department. "It is equally important to protect the children in the streets as it is in their houses. The Martin, Harding & Mazzotti Free Bike Program allows us to cover more ground in our efforts to provide for the community."
