The Accounting Aisle is popular with business owners because it dramatically simplifies their search process for an accountant. According to Dan Shropshire, network manger of the Accounting Aisle, the service currently matches around 200 business firms with accountants on an average business day. Since the network focuses on business-to-business services it does not currently operate on the weekends. Shropshire plans to double the number of business requests over the next year.

The Accounting Aisle is just one of the marketing services offered to businesses by parent company Sales Star Networks of Lakewood, Colorado. The company helps small businesses find local service providers.

Sales Star has grown to help businesses reach new customers in an age when display and direct advertising are becoming more expensive and less effective. "The days of getting the biggest yellow page ad and waiting for the phone to ring are over," says Shropshire. "Today's business owners go to the Internet to find new providers."
